The Vancouver Regional Construction Association has a rich history dating back to 1929, making 2019 its 90th anniversary!

From now through the 2020 Annual General Meeting, we will celebrate the history of the association by introducing elements of our anniversary celebrations to a number of events, starting with the annual golf tournament June 7.
VRCA has a long history with golf – the association hosted its first golf tournament in the early summer of 1929 at the Vancouver Golf and Country Club.

While we’re not returning to the Vancouver Golf Club for this year’s tournament, we do have plans to bring the 1920s to Northview Golf & Country Club! As a reminder, registration for this year’s golf tournament opens Wednesday, May 1 at 9 a.m.

Check out future editions of the Connector for details of the various events that will take place and the stories that will be told celebrating VRCA’s 90th anniversary.

In addition, we know that VRCA is not the only organization celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. A number of our members and stakeholder partners are celebrating anniversaries from 35 to 100 years! So let’s celebrate together!

Is your company or association celebrating a milestone in 2019? Share the details with us so that we can include you as part of celebrations. Please email details of your milestone to: [email protected].

Happy anniversary VRCA!

Our association began operating as the Building and Construction Industries Exchange of British Columbia, a mixed association that included general contractors, trade contractors and suppliers. It has rebranded twice, first becoming the Amalgamated Construction Association of B.C. in 1966 and then the Vancouver Regional Construction Association in November 1999.
