Jack Bibby, a VRCA Life Member and accomplished member of the construction community, passed away at the age of 90 on Dec. 12.

Jack Bibby - VRCA Life MemberMr. Bibby was a member of the Amalgamated Construction Association, which was the precursor to the VRCA. He was also the founding member of the Construction Labour Relations Association and was a strong influence in the industry for a long time in Vancouver and B.C.

In 1974, Mr. Bibby formed his own company, J.D. Bibby Management Limited, which specialized in project management. His company did project management for the construction of Grace Hospital (now B.C. Children’s Hospital and B.C. Women’s Hospital + Health Centre) at the current Oak Street location. Other projects included the conversion of the old courthouse to the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Songhees Development in Victoria.

A celebration of Jack’s life for friends and family will be held at the Vancouver Club at 915 West Hastings Street in Vancouver on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.
